EHP Expectations
Personal Belongings/Toys:
Trinity’s EHP is stocked with toys and games, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, and other items your child can use while at our program. Occasionally, special organized group activities and crafts are led by our staff. There is no need for your child to bring their “prized possessions” to the before and after school program. Please help us by not allowing your child to bring personal belongings or toys to the program. The Extended Hours Program cannot be responsible for the loss or damage of electronics, toys, games, clothes, or other personal belongings.
We strongly encourage you to keep the following at home:
Cell Phones/Smart Watches/Smart Technology:
As EHP is an extension of the TLS day, the same TLS policies apply here. Technology items will be checked into the bin (same as classrooms do currently) and can be retrieved at pick up. Failure to check your phone into the bin, will result in a behavior slip.
Expectations:
Good Christian behavior will be the standard. The EHP staff will work in partnership with parents and teachers, keeping them informed of behavior issues and methods used to guide or re-direct the child(ren) toward appropriate behavior. Detailed discussion regarding behavior can be found in the TLS Handbook. The policies in the TLS Handbook apply to EHP as well.
The following techniques will be used to foster a positive Christian environment:
Any behavior problems that cannot be resolved cooperatively will result in discussions with the parent(s), Acting Principal, School Pastor or Lead Pastor, and the EHP Coordinator about your child’s participation in the program.
Lost & Found:
Trinity Lutheran School has a Lost & Found, any items left in EHP will be found there. It is highly recommended that you label all items with your child’s name. While we make every effort to keep all the child’s belongings in their backpack or with them, there are times that an item may be left behind and placed in Lost & Found.

- Encourage children to solve their own problems in ways that show love and respect to others.
- Redirect negative behavior by changing activities.
- Model and reinforce appropriate Christian behaviors.
- Promote behaviors that enhance positive self-esteem, respect, and self-control.
- Explain the consequences of behavior.
