Our Core Values
Members of Trinity uphold a set of strong convictions and priorities that drive how we direct our ministry.
Joyfully Grounded in the Gospel
Trinity thrives on more joy than guilt. Jesus frees us from the guilt of falling short. You hear this joy in all Trinity’s messaging and experience it yourself in your relationships here. (Philippians 4:4; Psalm 16:11; John 15:11)
Member Owned Mission
Everyone has a role to play. As a church family we share the joy of working hard together to carry out our mission using the energy, time, opportunities, and talents that God provides us all. (1 Corinthians 12:7; Matthew 25:14ff; 1 Peter 4:10)
Unity Within Diversity
We desire to reach all people in our community with the gospel: all ethnic groups, all socioeconomic groups, etc. We believe the gospel unites different cultures, and that differences enrich our church when we move in the same mission direction. (1 Timothy 2:4; Colossians 3:11; Revelation 7:9-10)
Courageous Personal Evangelism
Trinity’s members love to talk about what Jesus has done for them. They look for every opportunity to do so. We trust that God will change lives through his Word one person at a time. (Acts 1:8; Joshua 1:9; Luke 12:11,12)
Christian Education for Youth
We offer excellent educational ministry for youth, combining the timeless truths of God’s Word, a rigorous curriculum, a Christ-centered environment, and supportive teachers. We want to help parents provide children with the foundation for success both in this life and in eternity. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9; Ephesians 6:4; 2 Timothy 3:16)
Lifelong Spiritual Growth
We want to become more and more like Jesus by moving along two spiritual spectrums: Biblical wisdom and sanctified service of God and neighbor. This is a goal for every member. From infancy through death, we never stop growing along these spectrums. (2 Peter 3:18; Colossians 1:9,10; Hebrews 5:12-14)
Rooted and Relevant Worship
We believe that gathering around Word and sacrament is the high point of a believers week. Trinity’s worship is rooted: demonstrating our connection to believers that went before us, illustrating that greatest problems and only solution do not change, utilizing “treasures old.” Trinity’s worship is relevant: applying God’s Word in practical ways, helping people see their greatest need and the One who meets it, utilizing “treasures new.” (Matthew 18:20; Matthew 13:52; Hebrews 13:7)
Thinking of Others First
Out of love for our Savior, we believe that the needs of people outside the church should take priority of the preference of those inside the church. Like Jesus, we want to love other people enough to meet them where they are at: removing barriers and going out of our way to welcome new people. (Romans 15:1- 2; Philippians 2:3-8; James 2:1-7)
Committed Christian Community
Trinity does not want anyone to walk through life alone. Though a large church, we connect members into meaningful relationships that go beyond Sunday morning. Members are committed to one another’s wellbeing just as much as they would be for biological kin. (John 13:35,36; Galatians 6:2; Acts 2:42-47)
