Prior to his ascension, Jesus left his disciples with the commission to ‘make disciples of all nations.’ But how would this small group of believers reach a world of people? Jesus promised to send an Advocate who would help them establish a worldwide church. Today, we celebrate how Jesus made good on his promise by sending his Holy Spirit on Pentecost. On that day, he gave his disciples the ability to cross the barriers of language and culture, in order to speak the words of salvation to a diverse audience.
