Because He Lives!

easter mission plan

An Excellent Time for Personal Mission

The Holy Spirit guided the Apostle Paul to proclaim about Easter: “The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law. But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:56-57). Because Jesus lives, Christianity offers something no other faith can: the Savior who triumphs over death and the grave! For this reason, Easter is Christianity’s most important holiday as we celebrate Jesus’ victory for us!

Easter also presents a tremendous opportunity to fulfill Christ’s call for each of us to personally be his witnesses to the world. Consider this: more Americans search for a “church” around Easter than at any other time, according to Google Trends data between 2004 and 2013. Easter provides a great opportunity to personally invite people to come with you to church at Trinity!

This is a great way to live out the value of our congregation of Courageous Personal Evangelism. What does that mean? This is personal because it is something Christ calls each of us to do. Evangelism means to “share good news.” What better news to share than the news of Jesus, the Savior? In a culture that doesn’t necessarily have a positive view of Christianity, to actually bring Christ up in personal conversations calls for courage! The more you meditate on how much courage Jesus showed in facing the cross for you, the more the Holy Spirit fills you with the courage to personally share the good news of Christ with the people he places in your path! Doing so is an exercise of faith, trusting that as you share your faith, God will work through your witness to accomplish his will in the hearts of lives of those you’re evangelizing.
