In the Pledge of Allegiance, we refer to the United States as “one nation under God.” However, the reality is that every nation is “under God.” That phrase is not really a political slogan or national motto. It’s a theological truth. Every nation, from the strongest superpower to the smallest tribe, exists under the rule of the King of kings. Governments rise and fall. Laws change. Borders shift. But the Lord reigns forever.
Christians strive to live wisely and faithfully in their earthly nation, all the while keeping their eyes fixed on the eternal kingdom. In this worship series, we will explore how to be good citizens without idolizing political power, how to speak up when leaders oppose God’s will, and how to live with peace even when the world feels unstable. Our goal isn’t cultural victory; it’s gospel clarity. We are called to be courageous and kind, to resist evil without rage, and to look to a better Kingdom. We honor rulers but worship Christ. And we pray—not just for our country—but for every nation, tribe, people, and language—because all are under God.
